78 Auto will not engage reverse, help!
Hi guys, I've been searching the site but I can't find any thing on my problem so I'm starting a thread with the hope that I won't have to take her into a tranny shop.
She won't engage into reverse. When you shift it into reverse there's nothing. Can't feel anything engage. You can rev the engine all you like but nothing grabs. All three of the other gears work fine. Unfortunatly I'm kinda stuck in my drive way since I can't back it out.
Oh and today I dropped the tranny pan and replaced the filter and gasket. There was a fair amount of sludge in the bottom of the tray. I dropped a bottle of zmax fluid in along with the new valvolen fluid.
Any ideas would be great.
