The top two pieces of my steering wheel assembly have fallen off.
Basically it's the steel ring with a hole in it and the piece under it, a metal disk larger than the hole from the aforementioned piece, that has the Corvette emblem on it.
It looks like those two pieces have 3 metal rivets that connect to the next piece in the steering wheel assembly chain, however those rivets have broken off and the above two pieces fell in my lap while I was driving down the highway.
Any suggestions on how to re-assemble that section, with the thought that I might want to take the steering wheel apart sometime in the future? I'm a little converned about just epoxying it back on... or is that the prescribed solution?
FrankenVette - just curious - if you JB Weld-ed it, why did you order a new one?
Was that not enough of a permanent solution?
Truthfully I don't have to order a replacement. The JB Weld is strong stuff. My emblem is cracked so eventually I'll want to replace. For now I'll stick with what I have.
