Just wanted to give a quick introduction. I have been lurking here for a couple of weeks now after rediscovering my Corvette "bug". I first decided that I wanted a 'vette back in high school, i found a beat up '74 roadster in the back of a local used car lot but I couldn't get my dad to loan me the 2,000 dollars for it(1990). It was a 454 6 barrel car, red paint with yellow and orange strips, an odd hood and ground effects. It need alot of work since it was a stolen vehicle recovery. Oh well. So i'm looking again, and hoping to find a 68-72 roadster that needs some TLC. I'm new to Corvettes, but not to old cars.
cars i've owned in order- '64 ford Galaxy, '74 Pontiac Grandville vert, '69 Dodge Charger. daily drivers have been Chevy trucks, currently a '85 Blazer (ex-military M1009).
thanks,
Rugger

Welcome to the forum! Good to see a lurker coming out in the open. Also, good to see that I'm not the only Charger owner...mine was a 68 which according to the orange paint job that could be seen underneath the white/black paint was previously used as a dukes of hazard beater. I cringe every time I think about how I wrecked it and then sold it for a bus ticket to LA so I could try to make my fame and fortune as a guitar player.
My personal favorite year is the 73, it has the chrome rear bumper with the rubber nose, and some came stock with the 454! But, any C3 is ready for a big block...they bolt right in, all that is needed is the cash and the accessory brackets to make it happen.
Welcome Rugger! My dad bought a 66 dodge charger with a 383 back in 1966 and still has it to this day! I used to drive it back in my teen years. That car would fly, I mean literally. The aerodynamics wasen't too much in 66.
