you can not use "self aligning" rockers if you have guide plates and you most likely do. they will bind .

That makes sense, but I didn't see self aligning feature for either the Scorpion Endurance or the Comp Ultra Pro magnum. Did I miss something?

Yes, you are correct. The advice that I latched onto was to keep the guides and go without the self aligning. The Brodix heads come with the guide plates.

IMO - I don't recommend using 3/8th stud RR's It is better to use 7/16th studs and steel RR's The shaft is much stronger and less deflection especially when not using a stud girdle. .080 wall chromoly pushrods

7/16th studs and steel RR's is still necessary on a 400HP street driver? The machinist hasn't mentioned ordering the Brodix heads with the larger studs.

the price for the RR is the same,,,,, you may have to pay a little for the machinist,,, but its worth it.... and if gkull recommends it I would do it...

I run 6500-7000RPM..... went through hell with my valve train,,,, if you really want to make a few more finishing touches.... put in a set of beehive springs in..... plan for the future,,,, what if????
it sucks to go flat at 4Krpm... and i did with my old valve train... not any more,,,,, :-)

If it is a 400 HP street engine i think the 3/8 studs are fine. A .550 + lift cam or high rpm the 7/16 are needed. I have ARP 3/8 with a stud girdle. You can use these with no machining.
