Default Front Body Attaching

I removed the whole nose from my '82. I ground off all the old adhesive as it was not correct for SMC and was coming unglued. Should I reattach the inner fenders first before putting the nose back on? or put the nose on first and then attach the inner fender liners? How do I get the hood height even with the front surround? The hinges attach to the inner fenders so the height is determined by their location in the front surround.

I put a new one piece front end on my 69 and put the inner's in first because they would not go in with the front end on. I waited until I got the front end on and glued before I located the inner's. There are hood hinge shims available for aligning the hood with the surround. The radiator support and hood hinge supports play a big part in how to locate the inner fenders. Like I said this is on my 69. I don't know if it will be the same as yours. Good luck!

Steve,

Thanks! It makes sense to install the inners first and leave them loose in order to adjust them. I'll give that a try.
