I apologize also, that wasnt refering to you, there are a few that I have on my ignore list who seem to post non tech, sarcasm, with the log out , read my posts , log back in and comment. nothing but respect to you , you're a good man
you're right though , there is a big difference , if I knew a guaranteed method of rebuilding those valves I would have kept mine, but it seems to be hit and miss even with the rebuilders who do it for a living.
And you are right, its not a solution to the leaky valve issue, I have a theory that the 'new' rebuild kits are as old as the valves are even though they are 'new' and are subject to having 'shelf rot' , and its a hit and miss if you get one thats almost to far gone.
I've researched both prior to rebuilding my own, and after I rebuilt it. For me the complete replacement while not the cheapest, was the safest for my family who also drive the vette. They were worth more than the money.
Borgeson...No mo leaks,no hoses under the car and your vette will never steer better.3 years on my unit and haven't touched it since.Went with a universal joint instead of a rag joint.Steering is quick and responsive....some pics for you...Not my car but good pic..

No more hoses or control valve to pick up road grime:

Money well spent.
I just installed the borgeson kit on my car as well and am very happy with it. I waited around and found one from a private party uninstalled for <$500 shipped on eBay. It came with a manual steering link which made the install look even more factory. It's so much cleaner under the car, both from a linkage/hose standpoint and a leaking PS fluid standpoint. Definitely something to think about for the future.
Thanks Dude I have one of those Manuals but it does not show the application that I have. Every where I look I see it a different way, pushing in or going around the Idler pully. I really need someone to reply that really knows and that must not be You!
does anyone know which side of idler pulley does the water pump /crank pulley belt goes around. does idler push in or push belt out. This is a 69 427 air, power steering, power brake car. thanks to everyone and maybe some day i will get this car together!
Thanks Rob ,My manual shows a application where it goes on the outside of pulley but most part manuals show it going inside of pulley. Now if I can just figure out what size belt works. Paragon shows a 33.50" belt but it is a little to long. Thanks again, Charlie
