78 AC wiring Q
Im troubleshooting the AC in my 78.
Everything seems to work, but the compressor wont turn on.
I bypassed the low pressure switch, but still nothing.
There is power at the green wire on the low pressure switch.
There is power at the Fast Idle solenoid.
Is the compressor just bad?
I have not just put power directly to the compressor.....
Below that, at the (high pressure?) switch, there is no power. It has a blue and a Dk Green wire.
I cant find these wires on a schematic to see where they terminate.
Any help would be appreciated.

this is a wiring sch. for a 78 the (highpress switch) is probably the thermostatic switch. will need to jump it out to see if comp. will engage. make sure the ground wire off the plug is in place for the compressor also.

Ok....Looks like its the compressor.
Bypassed both switches, test light lit up, but compressor didnt engage.
Jumped power direct to compressor, no engage.
Sigh....

you can buy just the clutch for those and if you get the puller , you can swap them out on the car.
