Default 82crossfire HELP

Traveling with my 82 Vette and after 2 hours of running perfect, the choke flap closed causing the engine to run rich. Disconnected vacuum hose and plugged so no vacuum leak. Tried to crank and wouldn't start. Took breather off to see when turning engine over to start, the injectors were wide open dumping all the fuel it could take. Unplugged injectors, cranked with throttle wide open and eventually cranked. Still ran rough figure to have fouled the plugs. Shut the car off and it would not crank due to the injectors stuck wide open. Unplugged the injectors, cranked car and reconnected injectors. Car back running but bad.
My concern is what would be causing the injectors to get stuck wide open when turning the car off?
Desperate 200 miles from home.

Is the check engine light on and if so can you pull a code from the ECM?

Check engine light has been on. I figure because of dual exhaust and no converter. Don't have a way to ck the ECM.
When I try to crank, the injectors look like they are stuck in the open position as if the throttle is wide open and dumping a lot of fuel in the intake

You can check theck the ECM. Here is a procedure posted by nash2vette :

This is the procedure to check codes on the 82:

You need to jump the two top right pins in the connector under the ash tray.

Turn the ignition switch to "On" but do not start the engine.

Depending on the model year, either the "Check Engine Light" or the "Service Engine Soon" will begin to flash.

As the code display sequence begins, you will see a flash followed by a pause and then two flashes. This is the indication for the number "12". The number 12 is a delimiter intended to show where the ECM code display starts and stops.

Code 12 will flash three times and then any stored codes will flash. When all codes have been displayed or if there are no stored codes, the number 12 will again flash three times.

For example, a problem with the EGR system (code 32) will be shown as 12, 12, 12, 32, 32, 32, 12, 12, 12.

This would be displayed on the Check Engine/Service Engine Soon light like this:

12: flash (pause), flash, flash, (long pause)
12: flash (pause), flash, flash, (long pause)
12: flash (pause), flash, flash, (long pause)
32: flash, flash, flash (pause) flash, flash (long pause)
32: flash, flash, flash (pause), flash, flash (long pause)
32: flash, flash, flash (pause), flash, flash (long pause)
12: flash (pause), flash, flash, (long pause)
12: flash (pause), flash, flash, (long pause)
12: flash (pause), flash, flash (long pause)

The ECM code display will repeat until you turn off the ignition switch and remove the short.

your car does not have a choke flap unless you have a carb on there.the injectors dumping a lot of gas could be from the sensor in the front by the water pump.

finally got to a spot to check codes. codes were:
12, 12, 12, 51, 51, 51,
after talking to AT-82 collector, he informed me it was either the ECC or the EPROM connection. Could also be moisture due to humidity. pulled the ECC out of the car in the hotel parking lot. Removed the EPROM to discover one of the prongs had been bent and not touching. Been this way forever. Straighten the prong out, reinstalled, car cranked right up!

Running a little rough but I think it is because of the raw fuel that had been dumped in the system. Running it today will clean that up.

I owe AT-82 Collector a HUGE, THANK YOU! for your kindness and helpful assistance. The world needs more folks like you.
