Default Electrical problem

Hi guys hopping u can help..

The last few days when I gave any electrical item on the volts drop down even the indicators and the dash lights dim with the flashing.. The radio as keeps cutting out but turns straight back on.. The battery is new and is about 13 volts and when running getting about 15 volts. It blew the fuseae link next to the starter last night and stranded me!!! Only thing i j can think is a ground problem ( which one ahoukd i ve looking ar) or maybe alternator? It's about a year old and battery is brand new. Any other ideas please guys

Thanks Simon uk

Well its not a bad ground causing the problem. You have a short somewhere on a wire harness. The fuse link is there to keep the wire harness from burning up in case you det a short circuit somewhere.
What year is your vette?
A couple common places to look:
the harness decending down to the starter from the firewall along the passenger side
wire harness over by the alternator

Your going to be looking for burned connections in a connector or a wire rubbed on something metal.

To expand on what Danny 6' above said, later sharks frequently have a white molex connector on the a/c blower housing, above the starter area, and that white plug/connector will turn brown with heat, and in fact CAN burn black and burn out....I don't think much of Molex connectors, certainly not for use in a power situation....

so if you spot one of them, you maybe find it's the problem, not the wiring per se.......
