Not just a matter of installing a new carb, intake, and HEI distributor. You will need a fuel pressure regulator with fuel return to drop the fuel pressure down to 5-6 psi that the carb will require. You will need to use a carb and TV cable bracket from a car that had a carb and 700r4 in it or order one from Jegs or Summit. You will need a corrector bracket that mounts on the side of the Edel. 600 linkage to make your TV cable work the 700R4 correctly and you will have to decide how you are going to get your torque converter to lock up as you will lose the computer function that locks it up now. You really need a good exhaust system, the factory style tube headers are pretty good if you can run a true dual exhaust with no cats. I did a carb conversion on my 84 crossfire and even with the crap stock 624 heads and factory cam there was a big improvement over the crossfire system. I later added a set of Summit 152123 large valve heads(made by dart) and Isky Z-20 solid camshaft. I have my stock factory tube headers with all the smog tubes removed and a true dual exhaust system with not cats. You will need about a 2 inch high 7" diameter air cleaner and you really need a 1/2" phenolic resin carb spaceer to ward off the fuel percolation in your carb that you will have. Like someone stated use the play doh to check for proper clearance. Good luck.

I have ordered a new cam, aluminum heads, headers, timing chain, oil pump, distributor, water pump, and then the carb and manifold.

Whens the crossfire set up going for sale? I wouldn't mind the ECM too.

what are you willing to pay for all of it all, it all only has 50k miles on it just greesy from sitting for 10 plus years in the car. Removed the heads also. Not looking to get rich off it.

Crossfires are fine if you are happy with 210 hp. I actually got better mileage with a 670 Holley with vacuum secondaries. Check my sig for swap details and PM with questions.

Any damage? Any cracks in the plenum (top plate).

I've been wondering for awhile now, how hard would it be to hog out a crossfire manifold and modify it to accept a couple of holley 390s?
