I have the exhaust, spare tire carrier, rear bumper cover and metal bumper off my 75. Sure looks like it would be easy at this point to drop the tank. Where did they put the build sheet on a 75? Was it on top of the gas tank or on top of the shield that goes on top of the tank? Today may be a good day to look for it. If I do drop the tank...any suggestions out there of what I should do while I have it out? What about the liner that fails on these tanks?
The tank is down. I discovered that the tank has been dropped before. All three of the fuel lines were smashed between the tank and the shield. Hard to believe it didn't have a fuel starvation problem. Glad I decided to drop it.
Found what looks like a small piece of the build sheet. Not sure at this point if it is.
Found the build sheet. Don't know for sure if it was on the tank or the shield but when I started cleaning up after removing both there it was. Most of it is gone and what is left is falling apart when you touch it. Oh well.
Yeah. I found the build sheet on my '74 two years ago. It was mostly gone and so deteriorated it was unreadable. Maybe the people that resore DaVinci paintings could have done something with it, but I just threw it away. Not without a tear and a cuss word.

Too bad... 37+ years in the environment did the damage... At least you had something, as mine was completely gone by the time I dropped my tank... Would've been happy with decayed paper!!!
