The sun visors on my '68 don't use that type of mounting hardware. Mine is just a screw with some type of flat sheet metal speed nut on the back side. Lot's of running changes in the '68 model year.
No reason this woudn't work though. When my sunvisors get a little floppy, I just tighten the screws down a little, and that's it. Have you tried tightening the screws on your sunvisors? If they don't tighten, then they may be stripped and require replacement. This kit should work to solve the problem. Good luck.
I removed the visors from the car, loosened the screws in the visors and removed the hinge pins. I then slipped short sections of clear tubing (I forget the ID) over the pins where they fit inside the visors. I hit them momentarily with a heat gun to make them a tight fit, and then reassembled. That was probably 4 years ago and they've been like new ever since.
