Once again, I've noticed a loose-fitting intake manifold vacuum fitting. So, I'm probably leaking vacuum and causing sub-par engine, auto-transmission and brake performance.
And, can you believe it, the fitting is cracked around the nipple for the transmission.
Since teflon tape won't work (yes, call me Bubba) then what does one use to seal this fitting to the intake manifold? I haven't yet checked my shop manual. Do you just wrench it down tight? Or do you put a bit of the sealer goo on it?
Your kind consideration and generous expertise is appreciated. Thanks, GM
getting a new fitting would be best, but a liquid sealer like Kingt said us better than teflon tape. I use something called Leak Lock that you can pick up at any plumbing supply...just tell them you need a sealer for NPT fittings
