Default 1980 door lock problems/intake problems

OK, saved a beautiful shark from goint to the boneyard. In trying to get this thing back the way it should be am of course running into a few probs.
1. elect. door locks. replaced everything, still doesnt work. have voltage to one side of the plug when the switch is depressed and to the other side when it is depressed the other way. Is this correct?

2. Had a dual snorkel original intake with the car. The side cold air tube was mounted. Missing the front , so I bought one. Hood will not close with it in place. I know the car is an L48. Is there a different radiator setup needed to get clearance for the dual snorkel cold air?

No. L-48 and L-82 are the same.

That is an awesome diagram. It seems I have everything right. Darn front intake is just too high. The hood stops about 4 inches from closing. Its probably something stupid but for the life of me I am frustrated. So the radiators and everything are the same..geesh. Any ideas?

Do you have the front duct under the radiator support? Putting it across the top of the whole front assembly will mess up the hood closing for sure. It slips in between the radiator and brace across the top.

Caseys response make a lot of sense......4 inches seems like something up front is binding.

Check your ground on the door locks. The system is grounded in one door only. I had to replace the ground wire and add another ground on the opposite door to get both to work.

The diagram is a page from the 1980 assembly instruction manual (AIM). Order the AIM; they're worth the cost and handy to have around.

The ground is in the RH door. Here is a link to a thread with the wiring diagram.
