My car is a 71 350 with th400 I was about to order new Transmission cooler lines and I see that there are two offered. One for a "long" fuel pump and one for a "Short" fuel pump. This is the first the I heard of two different fuel pumps for a A/T. My fuel pump does have the return line does that make it a long pump?
I do not have OEM Lines on my car now so I am not sure. Do the lines run under the fuel pump? There are two offered from more that one vendor and even Summit list two for the same size engine and one for a short and one for a long.
SB would be back farther I guess. Not sure what a short pump looks like as far as the lines go

My fuel pump looks like yours I guess that is the long canister. I am thinking that the short canister does not have the return line. The part that puzzles me is that the fuel pumps without the return line are LT-1 and they are all manual trans. I must be missing something.
