Default Vacuum Line Question '71

I am starting the process of replacing the vacuum and wiring harnesses on my 1971. When I came across something interesting, and I am not sure where it goes yet, but just curious if its normal or not.

Off of the manifold there is a 3 way split, one goes to the brakes, one to the normal vacuum system, the other goes to a metal pipe that goes under the car.

This line going under the car is not in any of the documentation I can find, is this a mystery that I will solve when I get the car up a little or does someone have an idea that helps me know what I am dealing with before I get to that point?

Thanks,
Jay

You have an automatic transmission. That line goes to the modulator on the side of the trans.

It's in all the asssembly instruction manuals (AIMs). It's the modulator pipe for the automatic tranmission.
