Default A6 compressor

I have a 1969 427 with the original A6 A/C compressor. It finally blew a seal and I hade it replaced with an aftermarket compressor. I am still using r12 in the system. I have the original A6 compressor. My question is should I have the original one rebuilt and reinstall or buy a new A6. . I would like to keep the car original. Any suggestions ?

I'd suggest that you just rebuild the original unit (if it is not damaged internally). You know that it was working properly; you can't be sure of that anymore with a "new" one...

The unit appears to be in good shape. No outside damage. I believe there is a rebuild kit with seals and o rings? I still have r12 to go back in the system.

Is the broken one your original? If it's original and you are leaning toward having the car judged, you should consider having the original rebuilt.
