Hello, I am trying to figure out why my Rear Defrost Switch is no longer working.
It did work at one time. And the defrost worked as well. I am thinking it may be the switch? It does not appear to cycle on and the green indicator light does not light up? Is there anything else I should look for, or should I replace the switch?

ok, hot off the press, been having this problem with my 82. now my dash was apart and my console is still not installed, this evening as a matter of fact, it's raining and the back window is fogging up, so I put the front defrost on and then the back, light comes on, then goes off. repeats this procedure for a number of times. I then decide to hold the connector tight to the switch in my right hand, as I am driving. Guess what!!! held it tight for about 5 minutes and it seems to be working just fine. I even turned the switch on and off a number of times, and it worked each time. I think what you have to do and myself also, is to disconnect the switch from the connector and make an adjustment so that when you plug the connector back in, it is tight and making a solid connection.
hope this helps..............................Tom

Sounds logical, especially given I have been in there before and could have likely caused the problem.
