Maybe it's a stretch but the front fenders are rased like a C3. I like it !

Is it me or does a Quick glance at the rear, look like the new ZL1 Camaro, especially the tail lights and small spoiler. The fenders do seem more pronounced giving way to more of a cowl hood.

^ it ain't just you, that's the view that ruined the car for me completely. No oval or round tail lights like all other 'vettes. Looks like they kinda redesigned the whole car and were kinda tired when they got to the rearend, just decided to use the butt off of the 5th generation F-body and call it a day.

As far as the back of the car goes I don't see it as a let down. Besides if there is that much negative feedback it will be one of the 1st things on the list for a face lift when the time comes.

It seems to be a 'Frankenstein' design to me: part Camaro, part C6, part Cadillac XLR, and part ??? I'm sure it's a well-built mechanism; but I don't like the looks of it.
This design strikes me like the C4's did initially. Folks were enamoured with it...at first, because of the more 'modern' look. But, those positive vibes didn't last long for that new Corvette offering. Within 1 year of the C4's release, the book value of a used '84 was significantly LESS than the MSRP sticker value. That was the first time a used Corvette [in good condition] was worth less than was initially paid for it, AFAIK. And that's been the case ever since, with the exception of a handful of "special" configuration cars (C5 & C6).
I really expect the favorable vibes on this C7 to die very quickly.
Ugh!

I hated those tail lights when I first saw them on the Camaro. But now, I have to admit they look better, on the Camaro. Wonder if they have any leftover Pontiac Aztec parts for the C8? The good news is, when you sit in the new C7 (I should be so lucky) you can't see the tail lights.

Corvettes are like sex, even when they are bad they are good.
For me, as far as modern design goes this is a nice car, looks almost impossible to convert to right hand drive though (dash looks complicated and gear shift is too far to left) so I dont think we will ever see one here in Australia and if we do it will be a $200,00+ car, for that I can get a plethera of exotics.
so my humble little L48 79 C3 will have to do me for the next milenium, I'm happy. Dennis.

The C7 looks like Chevy is selling vents, and by the way there is a car attached to them. Like the new Viper better, however I didn;t like the C5 initially but did buy one, didn't care for the C6 when new and then bought one. Really need to see the car in person.

Just like the Silverado Crew Cab, I wish these things came factory RHD for the export market.
GM would sell quite a few more.

If it makes you feel any better, we don't get RWD V8 sedans or hotrod Utes.

I agree with an earlier comment I saw: Promote the C7 engineers...fire the designers.
It's a shame GM now has a design staff who know nothing about the Corvette, it's traditions, or it's styling cues.
