Yep, I too get snubbed all the time by the C4 and C5 guys. I'm almost tempted to go to their part of the forum and ask "What's up with that?" :boxing :D
King Rat,
The problem with that is, the people that visit this board all the time are more likely to be enthusiasts, so your target audience in the C5 section are the ones who actually do wave back already. The non-wavers just drive around aimlessly, then park their car and practice golf.

I dont care what it is street rod a restored muscle car or classic. I wave and I usualy get a wave or a honk in return.I dont let it bother me if they dont wave cause there are plenty that do. :seeya
That includes dodge and fords. :D

I sometimes got snubbed by square headlight jeeps in my ol' CJ5 but there's always been a bit of tension between the rounds and the suquares. I usually get snubbed by the supper yuppies who drive Vette's just cause they can afford em. The odd thing is on my fully restored 74 Honda CB750 cafe racer the only people who wouldn't wave were the butts on those dime a dozen $40,000 "custom" Harleys and Harley clones. I always got props from the chopper packs (you know, the big dirty meen fu¢kers named Tiny) while cruzin cross country.
My feeling (for all but the CJ8 squares) is that they aren't true enthusiasts so... F em'

Well, I used to complain about getting snubbed too, but then I realized that's it's not worth it. I've accidentally snubbed other Vette wavers before. The other day I passed a C4 and didn't see it until it was passing me and I noticed his hand was waving out of the window. I threw my arm out the window to wave immediately, but I'm not sure if he caught it in his rear-view mirror.

Snubs happen. Usually they're unintentional by someone who isn't paying attention or is just zoning out. Others just don't know about the wave or are driving someone else's Vette (like daddy's). And still others just really don't care about waving. I have a very good friend who owns a beautiful candy apple red '67, and he purposely never waves to other Vetters. He loves Vettes, but he thinks that Vette owners who wave to each other are just jerks who think that they're better than other people because they own Vettes. Although I definitely don't agree with him, I see how he can come to that conclusion.

Just wave to the other Vette, not the other driver. The other Vette will appreciate it even if the other driver doesn't.

Here's my wave to you... :seeya

I don't know for sure, but it seems to me, that if they see me, EVERY C3 or older waves. C4&5 about 80%. I've always driven cars that "wave" though (possible eception my Rabbit GTI). The best "wavers" were beetle drivers :-D

I always give the V to passing vettes, even while in my daily (non-vette) driver.

Most of the time I'll get a wave back. Sometimes I just get folks looking at me like I'm crazy. But that is O.K., I know I'm crazy. :yesnod:

And to everyone that passes by this post... :seeya

I always wave to Vettes and even any musclecars that I go by.

I agree with the comments above that you won't get the word out to the non-wavers by posting on the Forum because we are all enthusiasts. The uninformed, more than likely, don't even know about the Forum....if they did, they would be wavin'.

Only thing that helps by bringing the wave issue up twice a week is a little group therapy cuz we all sympathize.

The only thing that bugs me about this issue is when some folks blatently assume that ALL C5 owners are snobbish, over paid, ignorant, can't work on their own cars, stupid, etc. This just isn't true...I'm not over paid. :jester

Bringing the car home the other night with my 9yr. old riding co-pilot and a car of 4 or 5 girls making a right rolled passed us and started honking the horn and waving. We waved back and my son asked if I knew them. I started wondering if this was the time for the "Fast cars bring hot women or hot cars bring fast women (doesn't matter cause they both bring a smile to my face..) but I decided on No, Girls just like vette's.. :blueangel: Wife was following behind us.. When we got home she said with a smile, was that your fan club.. Yes honey, but only in my dreams..
