When I first start the car, it cranks right up and my fast idle sits at 1400 RPM and all is well.
After about 5 minutes of driving it jumps up to 2,000 RPM at idle for some odd reason. I try to "tap" it down with the gas pedal with no luck. Once it gets warm it drops to 900 RPM and stays there, like it should.
What would cause this jump up in RPM as it warms up? Just started doing this and it's the same routine every time.
Your fast idle is too fast. Try to get the underhood sticker for your exact car that shows the correct procedure.
If you can't, then set the fast idle at 1500 RPM, on the highest step of the fast idle cam, when the engine is fully warm. That should give you about a normal idle speed when the engine is first started.
Sounds to me like that fast idle hardware is sticky and not releasing completely when warm. You may need to shoot some carb cleaner on & around it to free it up better.
