While examining the engine of a corvette I inherited recently I came across this unconnected wire near the alternator. It seems to T off from the alternator wiring and is green in color. Your help is appreciated.
Would be supremely helpful if you'd provide some info as to what model year you're working on and/or fill out your user profile.
That said, if it's a early model 71 or so then it looks like the thermostat wire.
If so it connects to the thermostat sending unit sticking out the side of the motor. You can see it in your photo just above the wire connector low and between the spark plug wires. Brass in color with single slip on "tit" connector.
