The cable that goes to each wheel from the center of the car was stuck pretty good on the right side. I soaked some wd40 on it and worked it loose. Pulled it back and forth a ton of times always spraying the cable with penetrant. Seems to be nice now. Did the left also. I rubbed some wheel bearing grease on the cable as well...I don't want to replace the cable if I don't have to. Do you guys (ummm, and ladies)think this is a reliable repair? I'm in California and it's a California car so rust isn't much of an issue. Cars been sitting and last titled on-highway in '97.

Well oiled!
As long as the cable moves freely you will be fine with it.
There is a chance that the cable is stretched so if you can't get a good final adjustment then you may have to change it.
I did the same thing when I first started with my own C2 back around 1976. It didn't last long (re-rusted) and it stretched due to the pulling to free it up. I would just get a new (stainless) one and be done with it. I have all stainless cables on both of my Vettes and never have to even think about rust anymore. Eat lunch out of a brown bag for a few weeks and you can buy it.
Hi wsm,
I think you'll probably get a more reliable answer on the C6 forum where you posted your first 2 questions. Perhaps check those posts and bring them to the top of the page so people see them.
Good Luck!
Happy Thanksgiving!
