I see alot of posts about the zz4 motor, I was just wondering what kind of performance do you get out of them(quarter mile, 0-60, etc)? How much HP? Where do you buy them from? and how much money are we talking here?
I think the the performance is great! My best 1/4 is 13.3 @104 with a 4 speed and 3.36 rear. I still think that there are a couple of tenths still in it though!!! Haven't dynoed it... Yet... I will run the Dyno in the next few weeks tho!
Oh it will set you back somewhere just under 5k to do the whole swap right! Well worth it if you ask me
The official GM Goodwrench data for my GM ZZ-4 1997 was:
355 HP @ 5,250 RPM, TORQUE: 405 LB-FT @ 3,500 RPM COMPRESSION RATIO: 10.5: 1 (HIGH OCTANE). I have power and torque curves in .jpg picture files that I can send you by E-mail. The engine is ordered from GM dealers and cost is about $4-5k.
