It's possible the bracket on the box moved before they welded it on, or you have some extra tall body mounts.

I dont think its the body mounts, because they are the same as before I swaped to Borgeson and the old box were fitting just fine..maby the welding. I have been searching this forum but nobody seems to have problems installing the Borgeson conversion kit.

it's possible it is the welding. if you do a search there's a thread on someone who got a mis aligned bracket and Borgeson was giving them a hard time about. Mistakes happen, My Borgeson packaging had the Corvette part number on it but had a Tri-five gear inside the box. I had to send it back and get another one. my second one was perfect.

There is a fair amount of play in the lower steering column bracket mount. You could try loosening the column brackets and see if the shafts align better.

I installed one last year and had the same problem.......my fix was, I went back to Borgosen and they sent me a universal joint that fit and worked great.......They took back the stock rag joint as well....
Great to work with and I love my steering now....

If you loosen the three mount bolts on the box is there any play there?

just a little play, but then the box will hit the frame. I have mailed the pictures to Borgesen and they will look into it on monday. I think the universal joint will do the trick but anyway, something is wrong with the box I´am doing the hole engine bay, steering and suspesion this winter. here a pic of the 350.

Sorry, cant do a picture as my car is in the shop getting primed to paint.......As I remember the install, I had a few degrees of movement in the box per the bolts, and then added by drilling out the holes in the frame just a bit size or two and then I loosened the steering column and had a few degrees there as well.
The combination of those two AND the universal joint made mine work......
The steering is so precise and resposive now compared to the stock unit........Before I spent the money, I had completely rebuilt the stock system from steering box to drag link, and was hugly disappointed with the results.......1" of play at steering wheel.
Adding the Borguson was like night and day...
Good luck.

I'm having the exact same issue. I installed the box a couple of years ago and only drove it 100 pr so miles. The box has a lot of play in it, there is slop in the box. There is a huge difference between the steering input and the movement coming out of the box. Injustice 100 mile the rag joint was all torn up. The allotment is off about an inch. Open to any ideas.

Mine lined up fine, just the rag joint fell apart in less than a year so I got their solid uj and it's sweet now.
