I have a 76 stingray and I replaced the starter because I wasn't hearing the engine try to start when I turned the key. I installed the new starter and I still am having the issue. Yes the battery is good and all lights ect come on. Any ideas what to check?

I replaced the starter/solenoid with a duralast gold. Do u think that the new starter blew the inline fuze? Or is it the ground? And yes car has been in park and neutral. Thanks for help .

Here's your basic starter circuit:
Attatch a test light at the "S" terminal on the starter and turn the key to "start".
Test light should go on,
If not test, the NSS under the console and see if thats good.
to test... get your handy-duty remote start button and directly hook to the purple wire (at the starter) and the Red main feed.... if you press and the starter whirs, it's the switch, if you press and the starter clicks or does nothing.... you got a bum starter or solenoid
don't have a handy-duty remote start button? a screwdriver works in a pinch.... word of caution... there will be sparks, try to minimize those sparks or dead shorting the circuit
