I've changed the initial timing setting so the engine gets 36* total centrifigal advance. This move put the idle timing somewhere around 12-16*BTDC. Now when I try and pass emissions the hydrocarbons fails miserably and was wondering what would happen if I went back to the curb idle 4*BTDC factory setting? Or could it be something else? I removed the air cleaner and PCV valve before going the second time and hydrocarbons went down some but not enough. Any suggestions?
