Idler arm torque spec.
I just replaced my idler arm on the front suspension of my '76 and was wondering what the torque spec is for the nut that ties it to the steering linkage. Anyone know?
Second question, the washers that were supplied with the arm are like little foam rings and look like they will compress and probably tear if the nut is tightened very tight. Is this right?
Any comments, related or unrelated would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Aaron

Re: Idler arm torque spec. (AV76)
Hope you don't mind if I jump on board with the same question....I too just replaced all my suspension parts a few days ago and can't find that torque spec. As for the foam washer...on the idler arm I installed the threaded shaft was a little longer than the one I pulled out. The taper on the shaft looks like it won't allow the shaft to suck up all the way into the hole when you tighten the nut, so that should save the foam washer. Also I'm sure the grease will leak down into there a little and that too will help lube up the washer.
