Default bonehead lessons learned

OK OKOK OKOK for a couple of weeks now been wrestling with this silly heater fan hookup.

checked and double checked everything (I thought).

Posted two pleas for help on the forum. Several of you graciously jumped in with suggestions which I promptly tried.

It was when I took apart the console to do a continuity check on the switch that the problem was staring me right in the face.

One of those issues you have to look twice. Then even a third time. Then it comes .....Oh S--t. Noooo, that can't be it. Not me!!! Surely not me.

Well....when I first hooked up the switch I pushed the plug in enough to test it and see that all worked fine. Then I put the rest together.

After it was together is when it didn't work right. Only the low would run. Would run all the time. On all settings.

Well.....the hard learned lesson here. After testing, make sure the plug is pushed up ALL THE WAY, or it will fall off.

When you are done laughing.....look in the mirror and tell me you haven't done something similar

I have to admit that I did make a mistake once..... I thought I was wrong about something and as it turned out, I wasn't.

We should have a whole section where we can share all the stupid s**t we've done. I once poured four quarts of oil right through an engine. Didn't realize I forgot to put the drain plug back until I noticed I was standing in a puddle of fresh oil.

Drwet,
Only 4 quarts? Ha! I poured 6 quarts clear through and into the drain pan with the 6 quarts I had just drained out.

Were you lucky enough to have a 12 quart drain pan?
