Well, after 7 hours of changing Plugs, cap, rotor, wires  , gas filter, air filter and checking timing its running much better!! When I replaced the wires I had to take off all the wire shielding and drop the starter but I did it the right way. It took 3 1/2 hours just to change the wires!!
I still have an erratic pulsing when I’m cruising along that I thought would clear up.. I think I have some minor carb problems going on….
Carbs are not my bag so, time to ring her in to the Doctor!!
Have you tried a can of fuel system cleaner? Go for the good stuff. If it works, great! If not, you're out a few bucks, but you'll have cleaner valves...
I'll have to try the carb cleaner and see if that helps.. Its the orginal carb (just about 25 years old) but it only has 27,000 on it.. But sitting around that long I'm sure took it toll.
A pulsing could be a bit of dirt in one of the passageways of the carb. It could even be a small piece of gasket material. If the carb is old and the gasket material hasn't been updated to the new fuel type....the gaskets could be disintegrating within the carb itself.
