picked up a 454 short block today for $150. bottom end seems in good shape, no ridge in cyls
My intent is to store my numbers matching 350 so i can have some fun with the BBC in my 73 after a refresh and set of Aluminum heads, intake etc..
now the question..
I know the 353039 Crank is nodular iron, 2 bolt mains, engine casting is 361959 which shows as a 73-85 Car & Truck
What i'm not sure is the stamping pad #s

625750- this number is also stamped on the crank and the rod caps are numbered (Previous rebuild?)
I know this will never be an 8,000rpm motor , won't be raced just going to be nice Torky street moto to have some fun

61=Month and Day of Month? Usually this would be 0601.
513542= Last 6 digits of vehicle VIN
You dont see any letters like CHK?

Didn't see any characters, also the stamping is in small letters like 8 font
Wonder if it was decked sometime in its life and restamped
The T61513542 was on the right front pad and the 625750 was stamped on the left side pad I tried taking some pictures but unable to see the numbers with the flash going off.
whats the best way to figure out year of manufacture ?
