This was purchased for me years ago. I did not expect any assistance at all. When I posted to the forum Saturday night it was out of frustration. Better than kicking the walls.

MA sought ME out. They were adament about making this right and finding out why the carpet is bad.

I'm not one of those guys that ever wins the drawing, or gets the lucky break, but today I did. And it is because of MA.

And I can't forget to mention the forum. If it wasn't for the forum, this whole car wouldn't be getting built.

It seems to me that most vendors probably get product from the same sources. It is the customer service that does make the difference.

On Sunday I had decided to just bite the bullet and get a new carpet set. I took advantage of the sale going on with Willcox. On Monday when MA said they wanted to help, I called Willcox to cancel the order. You know, it's a pretty good feeling when the big boss answers the phone and helps you.

Customer Service

Freakin AWESOME.......

I got the new carpet set today.

It is so obvious what was wrong with the first set. The glue guy must have had to go to the bathroom because there was no glue on the back side of the bad carpet.

This cut pile carpet is like the hair club for men. There are plugs of carpet stitched to a backing, then sealed with some sort of adhesive.

There is no adhesive on the back side of the large pieces on the bad carpet. This has to have been some sort of fluke in manufacturing the carpet itself.

This new set is really nice. I again applaud MA for standing by their product. The replacement set is the exact same set, but with adhesive.

When I first saw the box today when I got home I thought FEDX had rejected the box I sent back!!!

In the following picture you can see the difference as I kept a small part of the old set.

Commander 47,
Hey glad you were able to get it resolved...
MidAmericaMotors is the kind of company to do business with...Any company that takes care of there customer after the sale, is my kind of business and should be others here as well...
Every great company knows that taking care of the customer "after" the sale as well = return business from the buyer and others...
Anyone distributor can get a bad batch of anything...Everything is mass produced and normally shipped in large quantities.... it happens to all of them..Its up to the company how they respond and if they want return business... They non responsive lowballers who say its yours are usually the companies who dont make it!!..Price isnt everything to everyone... case and point here!!!
I have not done business with this company yet, But you can bet I will with comfidence now.....
I have been on that side doing sales and understand that mentality..
Im glad it worked out for you...Somehow I knew it would ...
Chalk it up to life experience man...We all have it it different variations/ senarios/times/places etc...
They are taking care of you bottom line...Be Thankful!!!

I have to agree with drwet. Most people can forgive a mistake, however it's how the mistake is resolved that makes that someone or company a hero or a dog.

I'm right in the middle of replacing my carpet. Needless to say, I will be inspecting the back of ever piece.

I wonder if the folks at Corvette America are reading this. While putting the interior of my '70 back together recently I went to install a new door felt which I had purchased from them in March 2012. It didn't fit, nor could it even be made to fit. I destroyed it trying to make it fit. I called them and asked if they would consider giving me a refund on the remaining three, and the nice man told me they'd call me back the following day. I have yet to hear from them, and when I did a little digging and found the receipt It was dated March 5,2012 so I was just outside the warranty period. That doesn't seem to bother Corvette America. While door felts are relatively cheap (mine were $80 the set) this whole thing leads me to wonder what the general level of quality on all their other products is.

By contrast, what Mid America did here is truly admirable. Those of us that own and maintain these old cars understand that occasionally you're going to get a replacement part that has a problem. That's a given. The problem is magnified when the vendor refuses to stand behind their product, and as big as Corvette America is I still won' t be doing business with them anymore. I had purchased from Mid-America in the past, though, and I think I'll be giving them a look on future projects.

"The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price has gone away"...
