Omega clip placement on PS hoses
I got my parts order on Fiday including a new PS pressure hose. I have a chronic PS leak and before I switch to manual steering, I thought that I'd simply try replacing the offending hose. I'll post pics later as I think that the flares look different
In the mean time, I also picked up one of those Omega style hose clips. The part ad says that it goes "behind the power steering pump.". My neighbor's house and the Pacific ocean are both behind the pump so I didn't think that specification was helpful. It doesn't show up in the AIM so I'm not even sure that it's a stock part. Anyone know the correct placement?

Well I may not have figured out where the clip goes but while tring to seat the hose coupling in the body, what do I find hanging off the back but the barrel shaped o-ring that goes between the pump and the reservoir (the middle arrow of the three on the back):
Wonder if this might have contributed to the leak

Not sure where your leak is. If it's near where the hoses attach to the cylinder, make sure the shaft isn't bent a little bit. I went thru mine thinking it was the hoses, but when I extended the shaft you could see a nice curve in it.
