The only way he could get close to that price is with an NCRS Duntov award or Bloomingtion Gold! Other than that its a 20-23K car maybe! A 5 star bowtie car might get close to that kind of $$$? Thad

no way, maybe if it was an absolutely perfect and original LT-1 or something, but an L-46 is not that rare, hard top verts are somewhat rare, (2556) but even if it is a bloomington gold there's still no way that car is worth 50 G's
I hate people who don't know what the word RESTORE means. To me, restored is back to original. To restore something is to make it as it once was. I am almost positive that that intake didn't come on that engine in 70. That is an early style with the oil filler in the front. Pretty sure that isn't numbers matching.
For $50 grand, it had better have the ORIGINAL new car smell when I get in it.
Re: IS it REALLY worth this much $$?? (wireless guy)
For $50 big ones (US big ones, to us Canucks!) it should have the factory breather pipe to complete the PCV system and shouldn't have a '68 and prior intake featuring the oil fill tube! Otherwise, it's a real nice looking car, but if the above is any indication, how much of this car is real??
Prime example of someone that thinks they're buying a vehicle for the 'financial investment', then actually expects to cash out on it. Very rare and usually very expensive scenario.
Now if you buy a car like a Corvette for the 'emotional/funfactor investment', you're cashing out EVERY DAY.
this is a perfect example of why i always get stomped when i respond to the "how much is it worth" strings. there was a string not too long ago where people were suggesting someone pay $15k for a car that would need absolutely everything removed, replaced or refurbished and reinstalled. now in that particular instance, the car may have actually been worth $50k when it was done. of course counting that $15k intial purchase price, time and parts would have resulted in spending $50k anyway.
this car is probably one the guy bought for $10k with 20 boxes of parts. now he's spent all this money on parts and time, lots and lots of time, and he wants to recoup it.
all the more reason i will never own a chrome bumper shark, people think they are worth so much more than they are unless they are truely immaculate.
Re: IS it REALLY worth this much $$?? (clutchdust)
You can ask whatever you want for anything. Wish I had my camera today, on the way to the town dump passed a dirtbike on a lawn with a sign, 95 Kawasaki, I swear!!! $3500. !!!!! Even my wife was amazed! She surprised me by suggesting it should only be worth $500-600 max. Isn't there a motorcycle bluebook or something? Yes, dear..... We could put this car up for sale (92 Volvo Wagon) and "ask" $30,000. After all, we probably have more than that "in it" by now! MJ
Some of you are still falling for his marketing job. He is asking $50+ so you say it may "only" be worth half that, or $20 something thousand. I see virtually no description of the car, and only 3 incomplete pictures. It is hard to sell green. It could EASILY be a $10 - $15k car.
He has the valve covers on the wrong side. It's not the original waterpump (shouldn't have the bypass plug on top). The UA6 alarm plunger under the hood is missing. Why is the T/T button painted red?? I have no clue what the big honking fill thing with the chrome top is.. Aircleaner cover looks like a repro (bead along outer edge doesn't look original). He does have the infamous rare 5 port washer piece though. It doesn't look like the TCS is there anymore (350/350's should have TCS right??? I'm too lazy to dig out the TIM&JG.) ;) Screws holding the sill plate covers on should be black, not chrome. Ditto for rocker panel cover screws. What the heck is that big honking ball on the end of the turn signal level? :U The little metal trim pieces on the ragtop don't appear to be flared out like the originals. :yesnod:
