Default Aluminum heads

As I was installing my stainless steel headers with stainless steel stage 8 bolt set on my aluminum Dart heads, I began thinking that I should be using anti seize on the bolts so I do not have any problems when I go to remove them some day. Am I correct?
Thanks

I always use a little when threading into alum esp with stainless hardware.

Use a touch on the spark plugs to to help them find the threads also saved my butt from ruining them a few times.

know that stuff can change torque values (easy to overtorque and not know it).

Stacy on Gearz said that us old farts don't have to remember to buy anti-sieze, Maalox works fine...or was that Milk of Magnesia? Maybe it was Geritol. Or Ex-lax...maybe Preparation H.

I'm sorry, what was the question???

Is this a small block? Use ARP universal 3/8th 5 point studs and use red lock tight on the head threads.

You will dork the aluminum threads with bolts

I was a Crew Chief on the F-4 and we used Milk of Magnesia on the bolts on the Hi-Temp areas. We also used Anti Sieze on the Brake Bolts (also Hi-Temp). I think it more for the dissimilar metals ( Galvanic corrosion). You can look it up, other wise this would be a long explanation. Have fun, Stay Safe.

Yes use anti seize. Especially on aluminum heads. Don't forget the plug threads too.

Not familiar with the bolts your taking about, couldn't a guy just use 3/8" threaded stock and cut them to length? Once the studs are in how are you securing the nuts so they don't back off?

All thread is made out of gauge one pot metal. ARP studs start out at 180,000 psi steel.

I have made carb studs out of grade 8 boltsl

George,

As often as you are swapping and rebuilding your engines, you should be using zippers instead of bolts!
