Dang dude! Is that highway miles or stop and go? A 3:55 shouldn't drop your mileage that much, should it? Going to Louisville KY and back I averaged 24, Tach sits at about 2000 at 80, and it was summer, so the ac was on the whole way. You sure there isn't a pin hole in your tank somewhere? lol
My tach also sits @ 2000r's @ 80mph...
The first day I bought the 82, just 5 days away from 1 year ago, I got almost 25mpg on the ride home....its been downhill since then....
Besides rush hour traffic on the way home, etc.,etc., it's kind of hard keeping my foot out of it. I average about 20mpg during an average commute week and a little bit lower if I feel the need for ..... on the empty roads in the AM.....But if I'm at one steady speed for any given amount of time, the mileage does then increase.....
24 mpg is very possible but you have to be just at the right speed. I did it at 63 mph with the stock rear.
As far as performance, the Hypertec chip is the best bang for the buck! K&N air filters help too.
Hugie, you keep talking about the Hypertech chip, I think it's time to install mine....... and maybe get the K&N's my birthday is in a few months....
Hey what happened to our OP???? he must be out driving the 82 all over the place today....I imagine he has the biggest you can have just cruising around.....

I can only speak for the lower performance chip. The best $120 I ever spent and 5 minutes work.
The Hypertec II needs the car to run at 160* so I passed on that one. Too much traffic in jersey and I like my AC on
