does anyone know how the electrical clip connects to the solenoid? The clip has two female ports. 1 has two wires connected to it, the other has 1 wire connected to it. the solenoid has two male connection points. teh clip sides on either way to the solenoid.
As you are looking at the solenoid from the end with one vacuum outlet the terminal with 2 wires goes to the top. the connector should orientate only one way unless it has been broken.
2 wires >I
------------- O< vacuum port
1 wire > I

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! I've spent so much time looking through manuals and was totally lost. Have a good day!
I really think it makes no difference it just drives the coil.
I just had my drivers side dash out, and when I put it back, it didn't work. So I opened it up, and soldered the broken coil wire back to the terminal.
The wiper solenoid works exactly the same. There is a coil that when energized pulls in a needle that allows vacuum to be redirected. When the coil is not energized, then the spring pushes the needle out and blocks the vacuum.
The are very simple, and the only thing I could image that could possibly go wrong would be a coil wire separating from the terminal. So if anyone has a bad solenoid, I would recommend you simply open it up, and solder the wire, and I bet it will work.
