Hi to all, this is my first post in this forum for a long time---maybe a couple of years, so I'm basically new here. I have a '74 that I'm finally able to start working on again---I'm gonna need plenty of advice (warning heheh). She's running though. I hope someone can answer this question for me:
a couple of years ago there was someone on this forum with a smallblock C-3, and I think (not dead sure), an Edelbrock 600, and I'm sure, a Pertronix ignition.
This car was getting phenomenal gas mileage (like maybe 20, can't remember but I was impressed). Anyway, who is this person? Still on the forum? Hope so, 'cause I have questions! Hope someone can help me out.
Anyway, its good to be back, just as it was good to ride the 'Vette today---been a long time. I also have a 2000 Camaro SS, a ZX12-R Ninja, and a V-Max by way of introduction, and I have a great wife who encourages my habits.

Ok, Turbo-Jet,
Like your wide-track heheh. Here's a link to some of my stuff, but I don't have the 'Vette on yet (the 12, the V-Max, and the SS are there tho') :http://truebluedesigns.com/wheels/default.asp
Will try to get some pics on soon of the Shark! Take care,
trueblue :)
We just recelty had a thread about gas mileage... Look a couple of pages back and check out the thread... I get up to 20 mpg with my 80' Duntov and up to 17.5 mpg with my 68... However I still think that C3 Corvettes and good gas mileage is an oxymoron!
One way to decrease your gas mileage by quite a bit is a overdrive transmission!!
The best person you could talk to about your tuning and mileage would be Lars. He is a forum member, and as luck would have it, he's local for you. When I lived in Colorado Springs I drove up to Denver so he could test his prototype recurve kit on my vette. Now many forum members are using this kit. He is also a wiz with carbs. I'm telling you, you're sitting on a gold mine of information and help. Look him up, you won't regret it. Good luck.
Thanks a million everyone for the welcome back and good info! I appreciate the tip on Lars---will look him up, 'specially him being practically a neighbor and all. I'm not too concerned about gas mileage ---just like things to run well. My ZX12 runs well, and it gets as low as 22 mpg when I run it hard---its geared down a bit---'course its a motorcycle ;) heheh.
Great to be back!
