I stumbled upon this picture of headlights on a C3 and thought it looked pretty bad ***, does anyone know where to get a kit like this and how much it would be?
You are looking at the old style Eckler's 'sugar scoop' conversion to fixed lights, MY only issue is the lights are by now old fashioned looking, and the plastic covers will fog/yellow up just like all modern cars do....
what I did was reduce the size of the huge holes, and put in later Camaro bulbs/mounts all from junkyard ......
Here is a picture of his. It's definately a cool idea, I just don't like openings for the headlights, which is why I was looking at the ones I originally posted. still sleek like original but not having them flip up.
i like the lights, not crazy about the shape of the opening. what would be cool is a modern light in the factory system but only open enough for the lights to be exposed. open maybe half way.

I like the mechanical concept of these lights in that they're probably lighter than the stock lights with all the actuating mechanisms. However, I do like the way the stock lights are hidden by their body color covers. If I could figure out a practical way to put in fixed headlamps and quickly removable painted covers I'd give it a shot.
But 650 bucks is a lot of money for a couple of fiberglass buckets. I found a used set on ebay for 150 that need a little work. Just keep your eyes open and they pop up. Most people consider them outdated now and want to convert back to stock.

I don't have them - but I'd do them one better. Mercedes has been using photoelectric tinting for awhile now on their cars. A black Corvette with photo electric tinting that, when turned off would allow the lights to shine through a clear cover would be pretty trick IMO.
