If you mean the slot from the arm slipping over the Shaft then there might be a burr of which can be smoothed out with a small file. But do not go too far. Just enough so they can go on as you do not wish to have a loose fit.
No, looked at it very close, no burr, the slot is deffinately smaller. I was just wondering if anyone had a problem. For the money I paid all parts should fit. Other than than the one arm, the kit is quality.
I never liked a Hurst shifter, and we sold them....At the Indy U.S. Nationals George Hurst wanted to give me one installed in the 62...I just said OK and each day he came over to see if was installed...We were running two race cars was my excuse for not getting it done...Never went over...But I have one in my 67 Camaro as the OE shifter grew feet, I don't like it in the Camaro either........ The OE GM shifter as far as i`m concerned cant be beat
If you are sure about what parts you have and that one is not made correctly I would call Hurst and tell them what is going on and I am sure they will send out the correct part.
Thanks for the information. I have three four speeds on the shelf and checked the arm on all three, and it does not fit. I called Hurst, it is the correct part, and they are going to send another one. The concern they have is, is there a flaw in the manufacturing process, especially when I told them it did not fit the other four speeds. It can be made to fit by taking it to the machine shop as the arm is case hardened.
