Default Engine Bay Wiring

I am in the process of redoing the wiring in the engine bay, I have almost all of it done, and of course there are connectors that I have no mates to on the car. These are on the harness for a 1971 all on the starter motor harness. If anyone can identify what they go to, and if it is important or not please let me know. Also, I have a quick question on the ign coil wiring, does the yellow wire go the - post and the wire from the distributor go to the +?

Thanks,
Jay

the wire from the distributor goes to the negative post, a dual wire should go to the positive post.

thought that the location it specified in the wire schematics seemed odd, the assembly manual had the yellow/black wire going to the negative terminal. Thanks for clarifying

Hi Jay,
Perhaps these will be of some help.
The yellow wire with the bayonet connection is for the washer pump. It connects to the front of the pump along with a dark blue ground connection also with a bayonet connection.
I think the majority of the other connections are for the CEC reversing relay and delay relay. (see picture) The black wire with the flat round connector with a hole in it gets mounted to one of the screws for the CEC relay on the firewall.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Hmmm, i don't have relays in that spot. What vendor sells them?

Also, the red single terminal, I don't have the mate for that, what is that too?

Hi Jay,
The relays are part of the 71 CEC (Combined Emission Control) system.
The 71 system was one year only.
The pieces are.... cec solenoid on the front left of the carb, the two relays in my picture (reversing and delay), a temperature sensor in the right side head, and a switch in the transmission. Plus the interconnecting wiring. It's really quite an interesting system since the various parts worked in combination like a computer but before computers became part of our cars.
The parts are all pretty difficult to find at this point.
Do you have any of them.
If you don't or aren't interested in originality you may want to just disable the system.
So...?
Regards,
Alan

Here's a picture of the solenoid on the carb.
