Default Why would Bubba do this?

After 4 years of owning it, I found my 2nd Bubba job (not too bad I guess).
The backup lights never worked correctly. When I put it in reverse, the tail lights lite up and the front marker lights lite up!!!!
I put them down far on the to do list.
Of course I checked the hardest things first--B/U lamp switch, under dash/console harness etc.
I took off the B/U lamp lenses tonight and there were no bulbs in the. Put bulbs in and they too light up whenever the headlights are on. I get under the back and find that Bubba wired the rear side marker to the B/U lamps with some 14 gauge wire and splicers!!!! Whenever the rear markers got juice, so did the B/U lamps!!!
I thought he might have done it to add "extra" tail lamps but the B/U lamp lenses are "correct"--white/clear center with red rings.

Other than being Bubba, why was this done?
BTW, they work correctly now :D

Oh, this is an easy one.
Back in '81 Bubba's dog Skyrocket was lying next to the trailer knapping. Bubba was inside watching Smokey and The Bandit re-runs when he went to the fridge and horror or horrors, he was out of beer!! Bubba kissed his cousin (and wife), Lullabelle goodbye and high-tailed it to the Vette to go for brewski's. Skyrocket awoke and, as he always did, sauntered over to the Vette to get in the passenger seat but because he approached from the side didn't realize that the car was in reverse and BAM, Skyrocket was sent shooting over the chainlink fence and over the backhoe, landing squarely on the community satellite dish thereby snuffing out Skyrocket and cutting short Sunday stock car racing for the entire trailer park. Bubba, vowing to never let such a tragedy happen again, wired the side markers into the backup lights so as to avoid any future incidents.

Greetings,

Reminds me of when I was looking at the 74 I have now...was curious why the passenger seat seemed kinda loose...well I found out before I bought it...Nothing was broken, just the bolts gone and replaced with tightly wound bailing wire! To say the least that was the first thing dealt with after purchasing it...Ahhh life in these rural areas...glad St. Louis is 15 minutes away!

I think the same Bubba owned shoptek's and Jason628's Vette because the seat bolts must have been removed so that Bubba could quickly kick out the seat when he wanted to take both Skyrocket the dog and Lullabelle the cousin wife out cruising a the same time. :yesnod:

This is not nearly as good as stephan69's stab at it, but my logic says,

When are the headlights on?---when its dark
Bubba says when its dark I ant to see how to back up too

What come on when you put Bubbas in reverse, front side turn lights.

Get it , when it is dark he puts on the headlights and backups, then when he puts it in reverse he can make sure the front end doesn't swing around and get hung on the Tricycle, coon dog, pot belly pig, daughter and date, heck I don't know whats out there,he just wants to see it.
