changed headlight switch in 1980 vet. Before I made change inside lights worked, now don't. What could I have knocked loose? Headlights work great but i don't know what i did to inside lights.
You do know that you have a fuse in the fuse panel for dash lights....right??? If my memory serves me correctly...it is a 7.5 amp. And I believe it is at the top...a dark amber colored fuse.
When you find it in the fuse panel....pull it and check it to make sure it is not blown. If it is NOT BLOWN...put it back in. Then...using a test light connected to a ground...pull the headlight switch and see if you have power getting to that fuse. IF you DO NOT...then you might have a problem with the new switch...which i have encountered before.
OR...
You might have the **** turned so the interior lights are dim.
HELP, i keep making it worse. When I started to change headight switch everything worked. I changed switch and inside lights stopped working. I replaced 7.5 fuse and put in old switch, no inside lights . I put new switch back in and now no inside lights, no tail lights, no horn. WHAT DID I DO? headlights work fine including vacuum.
All other lights: flasher. Brake lights, signal and all front lights are working fine..just the rear tail lights, markers and license are not working....interior lights all work.
