Both Zip and the good Doctor are short some of the pieces to make up a complete rebuild kit. I'm talkin 4-8 week delay. Can anyone suggest an alternate?
Can't say for a 68 but just rebuilt the box on the 69 and got all parts from GM. There are 4 parts that you need, 2 seals and the 2 bushings! Just clean up the rest and use a little silicon on the cover! Thad
You don't say what is missing. Have you looked at my paper that is posted at http://www.corvettefaq.com ? Go to steering and look at Manual Gear Service Parts. A good number of them are still available from GM dealers.
I read your first three procedure documents and decidied I would get the parts, print out all of the procedures and follow your directions to the 'T'. DamnT :mad , I did not even see the 'Manul gear service parts' section.
Well, the complete kit is ordered now. I think I'll go with it. I will be following all of your procedures and I will read everything before I start. Thanks for publishing the instructions.
