New Motor Recommendations
He asked me what I thought he should put in and I pointed him in this direction...

My cars are original motor cars so I've never been though this before, but I've heard a lot of people say good things about the 383 stroker which is why I was thinking that would be a good choice. But before he buys something I wanted to ask people here who can probably offer him better advice than me. If at all possible he'd like to not have to change too many drivetrain components. I know he recently bought a new carb and is going to need headers, but besides the motor he's hoping to not have to replace too much else.
Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I also decided to store my original engine in my 74 and found building my own 4 bolt 355 from scratch is actually a LOT easier and cheaper than I ever thought plus there a lot of satisfaction in learning to do it yourself.... The engine is not in the car yet but it should put out roughly 375-390hp and over 400lbs or torque and thanks to ebay, summit and Craigslist it cost me about grand to build
