Default Headlights won't go up
Hi. I have a 77 and the headlights won't go up. Checked all the hoses and they appear to be in good shape and connected. Pulled the vacuum control switch beneath the steering column downward and the lights came up and I was able to turn the lamps on and off.

Please help me understand why they don't automatically pop up and on when I pull the main light switch.

Sounds like the switch is broken.

OP, it is good they work with the override.
wilcox has a lot of good info and the part/s to fix.
