MSD Blaster 2 Coil Test
I'm looking for an ignition miss. In checking my coil I have readings as follows:
Primary side: 1.1 ohms
Secondary side: 4.65 K ohms
I've read readings should be .7 ohms (primary) & 4.7K ohms (secondary).
With this primary reading, is this coil suspect??

I'm getting no reply there either.

Does your ohmmeter read zero when the leads are shorted together? Do you know if your meter is accurate at that low of a resistance?
Is there a reason you're using this coil? Do you have an original coil you can plug in for an A-B comparison?

It's a good digital ohm meter. Yes, it zeros out. Just trying to test parts as opposed to throwing money at new parts.

Seems like coil is within specs. Did you pull the plugs to see if one of the cylinders is not firing? Did you do a resistance test on the plug wires? Did you look in the cap and at the rotor for evidence of carbon tracks?

New fresh plugs. Haven't tested the wires as yet. Will do that. Will be replacing cap & rotor. Still playing with this! It does get very frustrating!!
