how many shims?, 69' 427 conv
I usually suggest that a person begin with 3 shims on each mount.
After setting the body in place you can then add or remove shims to obtain the hood and door gaps that satisfy you.
The original shim count at each location certainly varied so don't be surprised if you have one with 1 and another with 5.
Good Luck!

I have a vert as well and started with 2 shims on each #2 and #3 mount... That was after I had weight on the suspension, all four tires were on leveled spots and the ensured the frame was level...
Dropped the body and ensured body was leveled... Torqued down the bolts on #2 and #3 (both sides), and then installed the doors... Shimmed my #4s to match the quarter/door gaps up nicely... Ended up with 4-6 shims on the #4s to get good door gaps...
Finally, loosened all the torqued bolts, inserted 2 shims under my #1s and the torqued all 8 down... Inspected door gaps and body for level to complete the job... Took a couple of hours, but not that hard once you have the frame/suspension on a level surface...
