Finally found that darn squeaking!!!!
Hey all,
I put a couple of posts up here recently about a mysterious squeaking coming from my engine compartment. It would squeak all the time, regardless of RPM or speed, would increase on rough roads, and was very annoying. I thought it was a bad motor mount, or piece of exhaust manifold shielding, but last night if found the true source. The freakin' dipstick handle was rubbing against the front of the brake booster housing!
Just enough friction to make an annoying squueaakkk. This morning I pryed the dipstick tube forward ever so slightly, and now it's as quiet as can be. Feels like a new car. Now if I can just figure out a way to lube the gears inside my speedo.......
