Default LT1 on 1975

I found some LT1 202 heads and was wondering if I could use those on my 1975 L48

Ask for the casting # and the date casting # , a 40 + yr old car could have any heads by now.
If the heads were orig to a 70s LT1 they would have screw in studs , guide plates and O rocker arms .

Hello 63split63, I going to try and get a hold of the one is selling them but he is in a different time zone so i'll give him another hour to sleep. Thanks, I am going to look up LT1 #'s so they match what he is selling.

I just talked to the guy and he said he got them and put them on a 1971 half ton and was written off right after. He would take $400.00 for and they only have about 500 miles on them.

$400 (plus shipping) for 42 year old used heads that maybe came from a Corvette makes no sense. Putting them on a stock '75 L48 would make little or no difference in performance.

Just trying to help (again)

Pass

you could get used ZZ4 heads for that, and they would at least bump your compression and take a few pounds off the front end.

Thanks, I was trying to save a buck and I've sent an email to summit and they suggested SUM-152123. I have duel exhaust with Magnaflows, But the original heads are not a good flowing so I am going to upgrade. I got the rochester professionally rebuilt and bought a weiand 8004 intake off ebay but before I put that on I want better heads and get headers to put on. The ones that are on their now have been machined but looking for something better.

The engine had been rebuilt about 5000 miles ago and spiced up before I got it. It goes alright but I am trying to get it to flow better

As mentioned above, spending $400 on 40+ year-old heads (and technology) in 'unknown' condition is a true waste of money. If someone had an LT-1 of the same vintage and needed 'correct' P/N and date heads to complete an NCRS project car....maybe. Otherwise, buy a used set of Vortec heads that have been checked out and reconditioned, or sink some money into a good set of aluminum aftermarket heads.

Head casting numbers and dates are not judged in NCRS................

Thanks for your "help", Mike. I was referring to the owner choosing to put exact replacement heads on his/her car. I couldn't care less what NCRS wants to do during judging. Sorry that I invoked that [dreaded] 4-letter acronym, which always seems to upset you.

BTW, are you the official NCRS "bouncer", or are you just paranoid about folks mentioning your 'club'?

No, as mentioned several times before, just real tired of you frequently broadcasting incorrect information on a subject you admittedly know nothing about. Not that this slows you down any.

Carry on.
